This site has been designed to meet the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and New Zealand Government Web Guidelines.

As part of this process we have provided the following keyboard shortcuts to the main sections of the site (for those not using a mouse).

Keyboard shortcuts

Windows (IE5 and later): use alt+[number]+Enter
Netscape (v6 and later): use Alt+[number]
Firefox (v1.4 and later): use Alt+[number]      *** important note (see below)
Macintosh: use ctrl+[number]+Enter

0 = Site accessibility information including access keys
1 = Library Symbols Home page
3 = Library Symbols Search
7 = Logout
8 = Help
9 = Contact us
/ = External link to the New Zealand Government website

Important Note for Firefox 2.0 users - Firefox version 2.0 does not handle numeric accessibility keys. This is a worldwide known problem which has been submitted to the makers of Firefox for consideration.

This website has been designed to work best in modern browsers which support HTML and CSS standards in patricular Windows Internet Explorer version 6.0, Netscape Navigator version 8.0 and Mozilla Firefox v1.0.4 (or later).
